The Bean Bio
This Papua New Guinea + Colombia blend is designed for those who love the classic “mocha-java” vibe but want it dialed into the modern specialty era. The high-grown Colombian base delivers the bright citrus pop, caramel-nougat sweetness, and clean structure that Colombia is famous for, while the Papua New Guinea third—typically a washed Typica/Bourbon/Arusha lot from the Eastern Highlands—adds rich chocolate depth, syrupy body, and smooth toffee–dried fruit layers without ever tipping into rusticity. The result is a bold yet refined cup: sparkling tangerine-peach acidity up front that quickly melts into velvet-thick mouthfeel, dark cocoa and toffee richness, and a long, floral cocoa-powder finish. Outstanding as espresso (dense crema, huge body, lingering baker’s chocolate) and surprisingly complex as pour-over or French press.
